They are weighing it up now.”

Hastings has long been considered one of rugby league’s most polarising figures, having fallen out with Roosters players at his first NRL club.

He then endured a bitter clash with Daly Cherry-Evans which saw him depart the Sea Eagles and head to the UK.

BULLDOGS FLYER’S NEW CLUB

Bulldogs flyer Blake Wilson has confirmed he will arive at a new club in 2026, with his current contract at Canterbury expiring at the end of their 2025 campaign.

The 25-year-old took to social media, revealing join the Sea Eagles, with a two-year deal on the cards for the talented flyer.

Wilson played only six first grades games this season, falling behind Marcelo Montoya, Enari Tuala and Jethro Rinakama in the pecking order in Belmore.

However, he will now have to contend with the likes of Lehi Hopoate, Tolu Koula, Jason Saab and Clayton Faulalo for a spot on Manly’s wings.

RAIDERS EYEING VERSATILE PANTHER

The Raiders are closing in on versatile Panthers flyer Daine Laurie, who is expected to sign a multi-year deal with Canberra.

Laurie, who can play in the halves but is at his best at fullback, is stuck behind Dylan Edwards at his current club.

He has been named as 18th man for this Sunday’s epic against Brisbane.

The Raiders have had success picking up versatile back ups from other clubs.

Kaeo Weekes joined the Raiders last season and has emerged to be one of the NRL’s most dangerous weapons after he struggled for playing time at Manly.

DOLPHINS BOLSTER STACKED HALVES ROOM

The Dolphins have reportedly bolstered their burgeoning halves stocks for 2027, with former Raiders half George Williams agreeing to terms on a two-year deal.

Williams, who plies his trade in the Super League for Warrington, will see out his contract with the Wolves before heading back to Australia.

According to <a Williams and then coach Ricky Stuart had a falling out over the halfback’s decision to leave the club.

The Dolphins were keen to add Williams from next season but Warrington didn’t come to the party unless they could receive a player in return and a buyout from the Dolphins.

That player was Kodi Nikorima and the two sides were unable to come to an agreement. part of Jason Ryles’ plans.

It seems as though Matterson is hoping for another fresh start at another NRL club, with his agent reportedly exploring his client’s options.

The forward struggled to crack first grade at Parramatta this season, spending the majority of the season in NSW Cup which spurred Matterson’s decision to head elsewhere for greater opportunity.

Outside back Bailey Simonsson is set to remain at the Eels next season despite rumblings he was disgruntled at the club.

Simonsson, who is under contract until the end
