North Queensland have emerged as the latest club circling Jonah Pezet, with reports suggesting the Cowboys<\/a> are weighing up a 12-month loan move for the Storm<\/a> half.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old is considered one of the brightest young playmakers in the NRL, but his route into Melbourne\u2019s starting side remains shut off by the established pairing of Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes.<\/p>\n

Pezet was effectively made available earlier this year after Hughes re-signed, leaving rival clubs sensing opportunity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Code Sports, several sides have shown interest, with the Cowboys\u2019 new-look coaching staff, led by Todd Payten and incoming assistant Blake Green, keen to explore a deal that could give them an extra spark in the halves.<\/p>\n

Raiders also circling<\/p>\n

The Raiders<\/a> are also understood to be in the mix for 2026, while Newcastle had been in talks for a long-term arrangement before pulling out of negotiations in August. For North Queensland, the chance to pair Pezet with Tom Dearden, Reed Mahoney and Scott Drinkwater has obvious appeal as they try to build a dangerous attacking spine.<\/p>\n

Pezet\u2019s situation has left him one of the more intriguing names in the player market.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A loan could provide him with regular top-flight football without Melbourne losing him altogether, but any move is likely to spark plenty of competition from clubs desperate for stability in the halves.<\/p>\n
