Matty ‘J’ Johnson<\/a> and Laura Byrne<\/a> have welcomed baby number three.<\/p>\n

The TV personalities, who met in 2017 on dating series The Bachelor Australia, confirmed the happy news in a joint post shared to Instagram.<\/p>\n

“Third time really is a charm,” the couple wrote.<\/p>\n

“Our sweet little Poppy girl is here and we are all utterly obsessed with every inch of you.<\/p>\n

“Poppy Pearl Johnson welcome to the world precious one.”<\/p>\n

The couple announced the news with a series of photos of their newborn taken in their hospital room, as well as a snap of the happy couple with their newest daughter.<\/p>\n

Matty J and Byrne also have two other kids, Marlie-Mae, six, and Lola\ufeff, four.<\/p>\n

The couple announced news of their pregnancy in April this year<\/a>.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffByrne teased she had “big news to share” at the start of her podcast episode of Life Uncut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The big news is, so you guys know that Matt and I have been talking a lot about whether or not we were going to have baby number three,” she began.<\/p>\n

“And it turns out, we’re having baby number three!”<\/p>\n

They had announced news of their pregnancy in April this year.\ufeff (Instagram)<\/p>\n

The announcement prompted cheers of excitement and congratulations from her co-host Brittany Hockley.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”I’m pregnant, guys. I am very insane. And it turns out that for a very short period Matt and I got on the same page about whether we wanted [a third child],” she said.<\/p>\n

Days later, the couple decided to do a gender reveal live on Byrne and Hockley’s radio show The Pick Up.<\/p>\n

The pair made their predictions beforehand, and while both agreed they just wanted a “healthy baby” Johnson did say he’d love for a little boy to join the family.<\/p>\n

The couple had a gender reveal cake, and cut a slice open to reveal it was a baby girl.<\/p>\n

The couple screamed with excitement, though Johnson appeared a little surprised he’d be in a house of three females.\ufeff<\/p>\n

“Am I capable of producing boys? I’m worried! Let’s go for a fourth.” he laughed after hearing the results.<\/p>\n

“I love being a girl dad… obviously, that’s matched with the feeling that I’m never having a son. I’m thrilled to have a beautiful girl!”\ufeff<\/p>\n

The couple are proud parents to Marlie-Mae, five, and Lola\ufeff, four. (Instagram)<\/p>\n

Matty J later chatted to nine.com.au<\/a> about finding out the news on live radio, and realising he’d never become a father to a son.<\/p>\n

“Disappointment is probably the wrong word \u2026 on the one hand I’m so happy to have another girl, but I think it was just digesting the fact that I would never have a son,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I think, instinctively, when you think about becoming a parent, I don’t know if it’s the same for females, but as a guy I definitely imagine my reference point was having a son and playing cricket and sport.<\/p>\n

“That’s what I imagined it would be like and so just knowing that I wouldn’t ever get a chance to have a son was one that kind of hit hard.”<\/p>\n

The doting dad recently revealed how he feels that he won’t be raising a son. (Instagram\/@ladyandacat)<\/p>\n

But he does understand there is no gender barrier to the things he gets to enjoy with his kids.<\/p>\n

“We can play soccer in the morning and then get our nails done in the afternoon,” he says, reflecting that his daughter Lola would “gladly put a ballerina dress on in the morning and then go outside and dig for worms in the afternoon”.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe couple have been married since 2022.<\/p>\n

They welcomed their first daughter, Marlie-Mae<\/a> in 2019, followed by their second daughter, Lola<\/a>, in 2021.<\/p>\n
