A heavyweight MMA bout at Poland\u2019s Babilon MMA 54 ended in about as bizarre a fashion as any combat sports fan has ever seen. <\/p>\n
Taking place on the same day as UFC Fight Night Perth, Babilon MMA 54 went down at Hala Widowiskowo \u2013 Sportowa in Grudziadz, Poland and featured a total of seven professional MMA bouts after the night kicked off with an amateur matchup. <\/p>\n
One of the scheduled bouts saw Marcin Szo\u0142tysik enter the cage for his professional MMA debut against five-fight veteran Jacek Kujtowski, but the bout ended as soon as it began when Szo\u0142tysik immediately tapped the canvas to concede defeat. <\/p>\n

Was there an explanation?<\/p>\n \u2014 caposa (@Grabaka_Hitman) September 27, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Kujtowski initially walked away in confusion before he came towards his opponent with an upraised fist that prompted another tap from Szo\u0142tysik, and even the referee appeared unsure about how to proceed until he formally waved the fight off. <\/p>\n READ MORE: 49-year-old MMA savage unretires for boxing debut against 41-2 former world champ<\/a><\/p>\n The two heavyweights shared a conversation following the fight, but as of yet Babilon MMA hasn\u2019t offered any clarification on what made Szo\u0142tysik tap as soon as the fight started. <\/p>\n As noted by @Matysek88<\/a>, this wasn\u2019t the first time that one of Szo\u0142tysik\u2019s fights has produced an ending that combat sports fans will likely need to watch multiple times. <\/p>\n Szo\u0142tysik was brutally stopped by Jakub Ozga just 28 seconds into a bareknuckle MMA bout at Wotore 4, and that\u2019s currently the only recorded fight on his record other than his recent outing against Kujtowski.
