USAFA, Colo. \u2013 The University of Denver men’s tennis team collected another eight wins on the second day of the Bedford Cup, hosted by the Air Force Academy, in what was one of the busiest days of the entire 2025-26 team calendar. —

\nThe quartet of Denver players in the field played four matches apiece on Saturday, twice each in singles and doubles.
\n\u00a0
\nHelping lead the way was a four-win performance from sophomore Theo Coats<\/a>, earning him places in both the top-draw singles final and the doubles final with graduate student Connor Robb-Wilcox<\/a>.
\n\u00a0
\nThe day started with the doubles quarterfinals, seeing Coats\/Robb-Wilcox advancing in a tiebreak while the all-freshman team of Aaron Beduhn<\/a> and Tom Noltorp<\/a> came up short. Both teams came back later in the afternoon with wins in their second doubles matches of the day with Coats\/Robb-Wilcox booking a spot in the championship match with a 6-2 win.

\nCoats’ path to the Lightning Draw singles final started with a come-from-behind win in the quarterfinals. After dropping the opening set, he lost just three games for the remainder of the match to move into the semis. He hen won in straight sets in his afternoon semifinal.
\n\u00a0
\nThree more Pioneers each split results in their singles matches on the day. Robb-Wilcox rebounded after dropping his first match in a 10-point tiebreak to finish off the afternoon with a win in two sets.
\n\u00a0
\nIn the Raptor Draw quarterfinals, Noltorp won a dominant first set but dropped two tight sets at 5-7 to end his main-draw run. He came back in the afternoon with a comfortable straight-sets victory.
\n\u00a0
\nBeduhn began with a competitive first singles match in the Falcon Draw but ultimately lost his morning match. He responded with a bagel in his return to the singles court later in the day and notched the win after his opponent withdrew with an injury.

\nThe Bedford Cup concludes on Sunday with the singles and doubles finals, as well as consolation and added matches, beginning at 9 a.m. MT.
