A young man from Beijing, China, has gone viral online for coming up with one of the most practical\u00a0proposals<\/a> we\u2019ve seen in a while.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s all thanks to the launch of the new iPhone<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The man managed to snag an iPhone 17<\/a> on September 19, the day of its release. He brought his girlfriend to the park the same day and proposed to her with a huge bouquet of flowers and a ring.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While still on one knee, he pulled out a surprise gift \u2014 the brand-new iPhone he had bought earlier.<\/p>\n

There was, however, a very good reason for including the smartphone in his proposal.<\/p>\n

In Mandarin pinyin, iPhone 17 is pronounced \u201cAi Feng Shi Qi\u201d \u2014 a perfect wordplay on his girlfriend\u2019s name, Feng Shiqi.<\/p>\n

The word \u201cai\u201d in Mandarin also means \u201clove,\u201d making the gesture all the more meaningful.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an iPhone 17. I swear to always love Feng Shiqi! (ai Feng Shiqi)\u201d the man proclaimed loudly with a grin on his face.<\/p>\n

According to Chinese media, the man spent months planning the proposal, sharing that he came up with the idea \u201cearly in the year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was waiting for the launch of the iPhone 17 so I could use it to propose. I couldn\u2019t wait any longer, so I bought it online immediately and had it delivered in time for the big day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
