Adonai Mitchell<\/a> was just one yard away from polishing off an impressive, 76-yard touchdown catch when he committed an unimaginable gaffe.<\/p>\n

The second-year receiver celebrated his big play \u2013 during which he made a contested catch and managed to outrun a couple of Los Angeles Rams<\/a> to get to the end-zone \u2013 by holding the ball out in front of him as he approached the goal-line.<\/p>\n

However, Mitchell’s move dislodged the ball from his grasp. It fell to the turf and skittered out of the back of the end-zone as the 22-year-old desperately chased after it and attempted to recover it.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Mitchell could not wrangle the ball while in bounds. The fumble out of the end zone resulted in a turnover and a touchback, setting the Rams up on their own 20-yard line.<\/p>\n

Mitchell had just one catch for nine yards before his game-changing play. The Colts<\/a> were trailing 13-10 at the time of his fumble, so his critical drop prevented Indianapolis from taking the lead.<\/p>\n
