The highly anticipated NBAxNBL Melbourne Series is nearly upon us, and New Orleans Pelicans coach Willie Green can\u2019t wait.<\/p>\n

During the club\u2019s final media availability before heading to Australia for their historic tour, Green, who is entering his fifth season as Pelicans coach, said he’s excited to meet their international fans and compete against two strong teams.<\/p>\n

“I’m excited about the competition and fan engagement and interacting with them, as I’ve heard there’s a buzz [in Australia] – which is a credit to the NBA making our game truly global,” he said. <\/p>\n

“But also to Australia, who have produced amazing players like Dyson [Daniels], Patty [Mills], the list goes on, who continue to help grow our game.<\/p>\n

“It’s a blessing [to have this opportunity] and we’re going to make the most of it.”<\/p>\n

As part of the action-packed weekend, Green\u2019s Pelicans, headlined by NBA superstar Zion Williamson, will play games against Melbourne (Friday) and South East Melbourne (Sunday) at Rod Laver Arena.<\/p>\n

There will also be an open training session on Thursday afternoon, and a special Louisiana Luncheon on Sunday, giving fans even more opportunities to get up close with basketball\u2019s biggest names.<\/p>\n

Tickets for all events are selling fast.<\/p>\n

– Game 2 \u2013 New Orleans Pelicans vs South East Melbourne Phoenix – Sunday, October 5, 2025 – 2pm AEDT<\/p>\n

– Pelicans Open Training \u2013 Thursday, October 2, 2025, 1pm AEST: Includes an exclusive first look at the team\u2019s training, player Q&A and more
