However, the company has struggled to keep up with global industry giants touting the same goal, like Zara.<\/p>\n
‘If you walk through a Zara store this season you will find similar trends, colours and cuts that you see off runways in Paris and Milan and that’s been their whole model,’ Queensland University Professor Gary Mortimer, a retail expert, said.<\/p>\n
‘Fast fashion has changed up the way consumers shop for fashion. Here in Australia we are very much around seasons \u2026 but we are now seeing changes every few weeks as to what is in stores.’<\/p>\n
Desordre’s website states it is currently ‘under maintenance’ and is no longer taking orders.<\/p>\n

One news report said the company owes 85 creditors – including Ralph Lauren, and Alex Perry , which is owed $729,000, as well as some 13 influencers, models and stylists, including Byron Baes star Abbey Steanes and Perth model Holly Young (pictured)<\/p>\n
Desordre has not addressed its closure with its last Instagram post showcasing a unique dress on August 30.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It is unclear whether customers with pending orders will receive their items or a refund.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Insolvency firm Mackay Goodwin has been appointed as Desordre’s liquidator.<\/p>\n
Daily Mail has contacted the firm and Desordre for comment.<\/p>\n
The news follows a difficult year for Australia’s fashion industry.<\/p>\n
Ally Fashion was forced to close 51 stores in the first quarter of 2025 before narrowly being saved from disaster.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mosaic Brands – which owned brands including Autograph, Noni B, Katies, Millers and Rivers – collapsed late last year after it failed to find a buyer.<\/p>\n
Jeanswest similarly had to call in the help of administrators and close all its physical stores, a move it announced in March.<\/p>\n
