\n +++ \u2018Dunks for Tomorrow\u2019 enters its third year: 1,000 euros for every
\n dunk at an FC Bayern Basketball home game +++ Defending champions

Munich. The German basketball champions enjoyed a
\n successful start to the new season. At the national league opener,
\n fans at BMW Park celebrated a 93-77 FC Bayern Basketball victory over
\n newly promoted Science City Jena. For the third year of the
\n partnership between BMW Munich and FC Bayern Basketball, dunks count
\n twice at home games: once for the result and once for charity, the BMW
\n initiative \u2018Dunks for Tomorrow\u2019. The 1,000 euros per home game dunk
\n scored by the Bayern basketballers, with which BMW Munich supports the
\n charitable organisation DEIN M\u00dcNCHEN, will be going towards the new
\n project \u2018Minds for Tomorrow\u2019 as of this season. Young people are key
\n for the future but youths from difficult backgrounds are lacking
\n contacts, opportunities and spaces in which they can develop a
\n positive perspective. Which is where \u2018Minds for Tomorrow\u2019 steps in.<\/p>\n
The name being inspired by \u2018Dunks for Tomorrow\u2019 highlights the close
\n ties with BMW Munich\u2019s social commitment. \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be
\n providing DEIN M\u00dcNCHEN with long-term support through the \u2018Dunks for
\n Tomorrow\u2019 initiative and in doing so to be facilitating a totally new
\n programme within the organisation,\u201d said Bernd D\u00f6pke, Head of BMW
\n Munich. \u201cIn the successful collaboration with DEIN M\u00dcNCHEN and FC
\n Bayern Basketball, we are taking the next step to make a difference in
\n our home city of Munich in the long term and to create future
\n opportunities for young people who come from challenging environments.
\n This also promotes team spirit and contributes to a vibrant and strong
\n city community.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIn this project we are arousing curiosity, fuelling courage through
\n positive role models, boosting self-confidence, and opening up
\n prospects. This enables young people to identify their own strengths
\n and develop an approach with which they can play an active role in

\n The long-term commitment secures the funding of \u2018Minds for Tomorrow\u2019
\n and we \u2013 like FC Bayern Basketball \u2013 can enter the new season today
\n with big ambitions We want to reach up to 4,000 young people with the programme.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u2018Minds for Tomorrow\u2019 project is divided into three phases. In the
\n first step, around 40 young people will be trained as multipliers and
\n motivators. They will acquire skills in areas such as project
\n management and communications, as well as creativity and strategy
\n development. In the second phase, these 40 young people, who act as an
\n authentic voice for their peer group, will hold more than 30 creative
\n initiatives like workshops, flash mobs, art campaigns, and sporting
\n events at schools, youth centres and in public spaces. Up to 4,000
\n youths shall be reached under the slogan \u2018Boss Your Own Future\u2019.<\/p>\n
The final project module will be an urban, public event at which the
\n young people will present the projects and ideas they have developed
\n to showcase their potential and prove that they can play an active
\n role in shaping society when they are empowered to do so. \u2018Minds for
\n Tomorrow\u2019 teaches young people from disadvantaged backgrounds that it
\n is worth them taking control of their own future and working to shape
\n it positively. The BMW Group will support all three project phases and
