The son of head coach Rod Brind’Amour made his NHL debut late last season, playing in two games, scoring his first big-league goal against the Ottawa Senators on April 17. The Raleigh, N.C. native had a solid performance with the Hurricanes’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. In 68 games, he scored 16 goals and eight assists for 24 points.

Across two seasons in the AHL, Brind’Amour has scored 10 goals and 13 assists for 32 points in 122 games, posting one assist in five Calder Cup Playoff games. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina for the upcoming season.

The Minnesota Wild placed four players on the wire, including forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel. The 29-year-old signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Wild this past July after spending the 2024-25 season in the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers organizations. He played 19 games with the Sabres, including 12 with the AHL’s Rochester Americans, before being traded to the Rangers in March. He played just a few games with the Blueshirts and their primary affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. In 22 NHL games last year, he scored a goal and an assist for two points. He also notched five goals and four assists for nine points in 15 AHL contests.

Of the two goaltenders placed on waivers on Monday, Vancouver Canucks netminder Jiri Patera might be the most appealing. The Czech backstop was placed on the wire by the Canucks last October, only to be claimed by the Boston Bruins. However, he was put back on waivers after the Bruins re-signed Jeremy Swayman, with the Canucks to re-claim him. Through all that, Patera played just seven games with Vancouver’s top farm team, the Abbotsford Canucks, posting a record of 2-2-2, with a 2.79 goals-against average, a .899 save percentage, and one shutout.

The 26-year-old has eight appearances in the NHL, all with the Vegas Golden Knights. He has a record of 3-3-1 with a 3.57 GAA and a .902 SV%.

Insider Frank Seravalli released the full list of players on waivers:

Carolina Hurricanes: Skyler Brind’Amour, Ronan Seeley
Minnesota Wild: Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Ben Gleason, Ben Jones, Matt Kiersted
Nashville Predators: Kevin Gravel, Jacob Lucchini, Matt Murray, Navrin Mutter, Jordan Oesterle
New York Rangers: Anton Blidh, Justin Dowling, Trey-Fix Wolansky, Derrik Pouliot
Vancouver Canucks: Joseph Labate, MacKenzie MacEachern, Jiri Patera, Jimmy Schuldt
Winnipeg Jets: Phillip Di Giuseppe, Mason Shaw

All 23 players who were placed on waivers on Sunday cleared.

On Monday, 22 players were placed on waivers across the National Hockey League, making them available to the…

[556
64,63,575,85
0":"post-178251","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nhl","8":"tag-au","9":"tag-australia","10":"tag-nhl","11":"tag-sports
["GET
