{"id":180368,"date":"2025-09-30T15:57:15","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T15:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/180368\/"},"modified":"2025-09-30T15:57:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T15:57:15","slug":"nrl-2025-nrlw-signings-player-signings-contracts-movement-recruits-latest-details-ahead-of-the-2025-telstra-womens-premiership-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/180368\/","title":{"rendered":"NRL 2025, NRLW signings, player signings, contracts, movement, recruits, latest details ahead of the 2025 Telstra Women&#8217;s Premiership season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Warriors duo Tyra Wetere and Felila Kia have been signed by Les Catalans for an offseason stint in the French domestic competition.<\/p>\n<p>Both players will return in April in time for preseason training in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith our season over and a long time off until we start again, this is a great opportunity for Tyra and Felila to play more football and do so in another competition,\u201d Warriors coach Ron Griffiths said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTyra was new to rugby league this year and this is a way for her to spend more time on the field learning about the game.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Gold Coast Titans have locked down boom rookie Phoenix-Raine Hippi\u00a0on a two-year contract extension.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The deal will see the 19-year-old promoted to the top squad next season and remain with the club until the end of the 2027 campaign. Hippi was on a development deal this year.<\/p>\n<p>Hippi enjoyed a breakout season, starring for the Queensland Under 19s before making her NLRW debut for the Titans. The winger scored nine tries in seven games throughout the campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She has such a natural footy instinct but what I love most is her worth ethic,&#8221; Titans coach Karyn Murphy said. &#8220;She wants to learn, has such a desire to continually improve as a player and is extremely passionate about representing her culture, community and the Titans having grown up as a Gold Coast fan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Having Phe locked in for another two years is a huge boost for our squad and reinforces our commitment to developing local talent in our pathways to help build long-term success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Titans have also announced the departure of Jillaroos star Shannon Mato\u00a0on compassionate grounds. The prop was signed until the end of 2027 but has been granted an early release after a change to personal circumstances.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mato missed the 2025 season after announcing her pregnancy earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jillaroos hooker Olivia Higgins, Kiwi Ferns forward Tiana Davison and local junior Jules Kirkpatrick will remain with the Knights beyond this season.<\/p>\n<p>Higgins activated a mutual option for 2026, while both Davison and Kirkpatrick have extended until at least the end of 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted all three players have extended their contracts,\u201d Knights coach Ben Jeffries said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOlivia has played a significant role in our club\u2019s success and is an integral player in our squad. She has established herself as one of the pinnacle hookers in our game and we are really pleased to have her playing with us again next season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTiana\u2019s experience has shone through this year, when you combine that with her great worth ethic both on and off the field, you get a very consistent performer and that\u2019s exactly what she has delivered in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJules has played every game this year, cementing her NRLW position after making her debut in Round 1 against the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She is one of several local juniors rising rapidly through our pathway\u2019s programs and we know the future is bright when characters like Jules commit long term to the club.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dally M Medallist Olivia Kernick is the latest member of the unbeaten Sydney Roosters to re-sign after committing to the 2024 NRLW premiers for another two years.<\/p>\n<p>Since making her NRLW debut with the Roosters in 2021, Kernick has developed into one of the premier forwards in the game, with the 24-year-old widely regarded as one of the most consistent and influential players in the competition.<\/p>\n<p>The two-time premiership winner (2021, 2024) was named the NSW Women\u2019s State of Origin Player of the Series at the 2025 Brad Fittler Medal earlier this week after a standout campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Her leadership both on and off the field has also been acknowledged, with Kernick appointed as the Roosters\u2019 vice-captain earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Roosters Club means everything to me, and I couldn\u2019t be prouder to extend my time here,\u201d said Kernick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud of what we\u2019ve achieved so far and excited about what\u2019s still to come. I want to help bring more Premierships to the Roosters jersey,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Roosters NRLW Head Coach John Strange said the contract extension was a significant moment for the Club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLiv is one of the elite players in the women\u2019s game and a natural leader within our group,\u201d said Strange.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer passion for the jersey, professionalism, and consistency set the standard. She\u2019s someone you can build a team around, and we\u2019re thrilled to have her with us through to at least the end of 2027,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Rising Roosters forward Aliyah\u202fNasio has also put pen to paper on a new deal through to the end of the 2027 season.<\/p>\n<p>A product of the club\u2019s female pathway program, the 19-year-old has played every game this season after launching her NRLW career with four games in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAliyah has been outstanding for us this year. She\u2019s a young forward with enormous potential and the way she has applied herself, whether it\u2019s through her carries, defensive work, or the energy she brings to training, shows the type of player and person she is,\u201d Strange said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocking Aliyah in for the next two seasons is a big boost for our squad. We know Aliyah is only just getting started, and we\u2019re excited about what\u2019s ahead for her in Roosters colours.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Roosters have also recently re-signed Kiwi Ferns forward Amber Hall for the 2026 season, along with Fijian winger Taina Naividi and forward Macie Carlile, who will remain with the club for another two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Naividi, 24, linked with the Roosters in 2024 after being sidelined by an ACL injury in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Carlile, 23, has also made her mark in 2025, stepping up in the Roosters forward pack with a series of tough and consistent performances after being a late addition to the club\u2019s Top 24 squad.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Broncos centre Shenae Ciesiolka has signed a two-year extension through to the end of the 2027 season.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old debuted with Brisbane in 2020 and has now racked up 35 NRLW appearances across six seasons.<\/p>\n<p>She has also played 11 Origins for Queensland and three Test matches for the Jillaroos at the 2022 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Broncos mean a lot to me, I\u2019ve been here six years now, I love the club and the girls and the culture is pretty special,\u201d said Ciesiolka.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a great group of girls and a great connection, and I love the support the club gives me, I\u2019m really happy to be re-signing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Warriors, meanwhile, have signed Paris Pickering for the remainder of the 2025 season as a replacement for Michaela Brake, who is expecting her first child.<\/p>\n<p>Pickering, 20, has been playing with Norths Devils in Queensland\u2019s BMD women&#8217;s premiership this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParis displayed great qualities while playing in the Auckland competition in 2024 and her time in the (Queensland) BMD competition plying her trade has seen her game develop,&#8221; said Warriors head coach Ron Griffiths.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking forward to having Paris onboard for the remainder of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wests Tigers have signed forward Ruby Fifita for the remainder of the 2025 NRLW season after she caught the eye of coach Brett Kimmorley at the recent Harvey Norman Rising Talent Invitational.<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old is the sister of Titans outside back Jojo Fifita and has been playing\u00a0for Tweed Seagulls in the BMD Premiership this season, averaging 108 metres per game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRuby was really impressive at the Rising Talent Combine in Newcastle, so we were definitely keen to bring her on board,&#8221; Kimmorley said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to seeing what she can do as part of our NRLW squad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wests Tigers also signed Portia Bourke ahead of the Invitational and the 24-year-old made her NRLW debut in the centres against St George Illawarra on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Bourke joined the Tigers as an injury replacement for forward Claudia Brown.<\/p>\n<p>Lucyannah Luamanu-Leiataua has also been upgraded from a development contact to join the NRLW Top 24 squad effective immediately and has signed a contract extension through until the end of the 2027 season.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans have added Jasmin Morrisey to their NRLW squad after the First Nations Gems centre impressed at the recent Harvey Norman Rising Talent Invitational in Newcastle.<\/p>\n<p>Morrisey, who represented the Prime Minister&#8217;s XIII in 2023, has been named in the Gold Coast squad to play Cronulla on Saturday at Sharks Stadium, along with hooker Kelsey Parkin, who joined the club last week.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Parkin was among the initial 60 players selected for the Invitational, which was held in the lead up the inaugural NRLW Magic Round at McDonald Jones Stadium but withdrew on the eve of the event after signing with the Titans.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, promising Dragons forward Madi Mulhall has inked a two-year contract extension with the club.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will see the 21-year-old remain a Dragon until at least the end of the 2027 NRLW season.<\/p>\n<p>A Camden Rams junior, Mulhall came through the system with St George skippering their Tarsha Gale Cup squad in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The Warriors have announced that forward Kaiyah Atai has signed an extension until the end of 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Signed straight out of Auckland football, NRLW rookie Atai has been one of the Warriors\u2019 success stories across the first six rounds, with coach Ron Griffiths was immediately impressed by what he saw of Atai playing in the Auckland club competition and for the Akarana Falcons last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA local Richmond Roses product, her contract extension has come through her effort and her exemplary attitude.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Teen sensation Indie Bostock has signed a contract extension with the Dragons until the end of the 2027 NRLW season.<\/p>\n<p>The Shellharbour Stingrays junior made a stunning NRLW debut in Round 1 of this season&#8217;s competition, scoring on her first touch and finishing with two tries against the Raiders.<\/p>\n<p>Bostock has twice been named an Australian Schoolgirl and Under 19s Blues representative.<\/p>\n<p>She has also won Tarsha Gale Cup and Harvey Norman NSW Women\u2019s Premiership titles with the Illawarra Steelers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to announce that Indie will be a Dragon for the foreseeable future,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragons.com.au\/news\/2025\/07\/28\/dragons-extend-indie-bostock\/?_gl=1*1j7e6xq*_ga*MTY3NzY2ODU5Ni4xNzEwNDcyOTMy*_ga_2Y6Q0FG9CF*czE3NTM3MDcxMTAkbzI0NzAkZzEkdDE3NTM3MDc2NDgkajYwJGwwJGgw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">St George Illawarra coach Nathan Cross said.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s another of our crop of local juniors who have been in the system for a few years and had a lot of success. Throughout pre-season, she worked extremely hard to build her body into an NRLW player and ticked all the right boxes. She brings great energy to the group, and I\u2019ve really enjoyed coaching her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Eels have upgraded youngster Fontayne Tufuga to their NRLW Development Squad for the remainder of the 2025 season and she has signed a Top 24 contract through to the end of the 2028 NRLW season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The All Saints Toongabbie junior has progressed through the Parramatta Eels\u2019 elite female development system, featuring in the Lisa Fiaola Cup, Tarsha Gale Cup and Harvey Norman Women\u2019s Premiership squads over the past few seasons.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, she further cemented her reputation as a player to watch after being selected in the NSW U19s Origin side.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Logan Fletcher has become the first player to progress through the Roosters female pathway to the club&#8217;s top squad after signing a contract upgrade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The18-year-old was initially signed on a one-week replacement contract before her NRLW debut in Round 2. Now, Fletcher has earned a new deal that has elevated her to the Roosters Top 24 squad.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Logan showed tremendous character and skill when given her opportunity in Round 2,&#8221; Roosters coach John Strange said. &#8220;Her performance demonstrated that she has the talent and determination to compete at the highest level of women&#8217;s rugby league.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fletcher&#8217;s upgrade comes as the Roosters have released\u00a0Tyra Ekepati\u00a0to take up a deal with the Dragons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The NSW Under 19 representative joins St George Illawarra immediately and will remain with the club until at least the end of 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The Eels have re-signed NSW Origin fullback Abbi Church, Tongan playmaker Cassey Tohi-Hiku and emerging forward Tess McWilliams as they continue building towards a strong NRLW future.<\/p>\n<p>Church, who starred for the Blues in this year&#8217;s 2-1 Origin series win, and Tohi-Hiku will remain at Parramatta until at least the end of the 2028 season, while McWilliams has re-signed until 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Eels General Manager of Football,\u202fMark O\u2019Neill, said the signings reflect the Club\u2019s vision for long-term success.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbbi has played the most games for the club and is now a Dally M Team of the Year medallist &#8211; her leadership and loyalty are invaluable,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Cassey has consistently been one of our most dependable and dynamic performers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re also excited to welcome Tess McWilliams through to 2027, a young player of enormous potential.
