The Adelaide Crows Foundation\u2019s successful STEMFooty program continues to make an impact in schools across regional South Australia with the support of Crows players and co-major AFLW partner BHP.<\/p>\n
This year the program has been rolled out in Port Augusta, Port Pirie and Whyalla, reaching approximately 750 school students.<\/p>\n
The STEMFooty program runs for 10 weeks within school curriculums and uses football principles to teach students about science and maths.<\/p>\n
The interactive program taps into students\u2019 love of AFL and incorporates the game\u2019s fundamentals with learning outcomes.<\/p>\n
Through BHP\u2019s support for STEMFooty, the program is able to reach more schools in the Upper Spencer Gulf Region, as well as Roxby Downs.<\/p>\n

Quantitative pre and post program data taken from those who took part in the program in 2024 showed that: \u00a0<\/p>\n
Students improved their STEMFooty knowledge by an average of 33 per cent
\nStudents had a 22% increase in enthusiasm and interest in learning about STEM
\nStudents\u2019 confidence in their ability to succeed in STEM rose by 23 per cent
\nAcross the cohort, strategic learning behaviours increased by more than 21 per cent
\nStudents\u2019 ability to interpret data, reason logically and solve problems grew by 22 per cent<\/p>\n
