During a hunting dinner at an estate, the chairman of the Defense Committee, Johnny Gregersen, witnesses a suspicious death. The Special Forces soldier, Niels Oxen, loses his best friend in an operation because his superior, Major Hannibal Frederiksen, deserts. Johnny Gregersen chooses to establish an investigation commission against Hannibal.Shortly after, Gregersen is mysteriously killed, and Hannibal goes free, while Oxen is expelled from the Special Forces based on false evidence. The murder of Gregersen is investigated by the DSIS chief, Frigg Mossman. At the same time, the police officer, Margrethe Franck, is initiated into a secret investigation.Oxen retreats to Rold Skov with his dog, seeking peace. However, the discovery of three hanged dogs and the murder of their owners disrupts the tranquility. Oxen’s peaceful life in the woods is done, as he is summoned for questioning by DSIS. Mossman believes in his innocence and wants to collaborate with him. Initially declining, Oxen changes his mind after finding his own dog hanged in the camp.Margrethe becomes Oxen’s colleague, and the two strong-willed individuals form a formidable partnership. As a chain of mysterious murders continues, they embark on a long journey toward justice.<\/p>\n

The Taliban\u2019s offensive is steadily advancing towards the city.As French, Italian, German, and American diplomatic and military personnel prepare to leave, the Nazany family remains in denial about the situation. Zahara, a renowned prosecutor, refuses to give in to pressure and heads to court. Her daughter, Amina, continues working at the hospital, where she has a few months left in her internship before becoming a surgeon. Her son, Fazal, an Afghan army camp officer, is stationed at one of Kabul\u2019s main security checkpoints.
