Johnny Gregersen chooses to establish an investigation commission against Hannibal.Shortly after, Gregersen is mysteriously killed, and Hannibal goes free, while Oxen is expelled from the Special Forces based on false evidence. The murder of Gregersen is investigated by the DSIS chief, Frigg Mossman. At the same time, the police officer, Margrethe Franck, is initiated into a secret investigation.Oxen retreats to Rold Skov with his dog, seeking peace. However, the discovery of three hanged dogs and the murder of their owners disrupts the tranquility. Oxen&#8217;s peaceful life in the woods is done, as he is summoned for questioning by DSIS. Mossman believes in his innocence and wants to collaborate with him. Initially declining, Oxen changes his mind after finding his own dog hanged in the camp.Margrethe becomes Oxen&#8217;s colleague, and the two strong-willed individuals form a formidable partnership.
