JAXON Evans will exit the Brad Jones Racing\/SCT Motorsport fold at the end of the year, in the biggest surprise yet of the post-Tailem Bend silly season confirmations.<\/p>\n

The former international Porsche GT3 pro is in his fourth year in the SCT Supercar entry, the first two having come as an enduro co-driver to Jack Smith<\/a> before being elevated to a full-time ride.<\/p>\n

Just last week, the 29-year-old had voiced hopes that he would be retained for 2026<\/a> \u2013 especially as BJR, which runs the SCT charter, links up with Toyota.<\/p>\n

That will not come to pass.<\/p>\n

\u201cJaxon has been an incredible contributor to this team during the past three and a half years, firstly as a co-driver and then now in the primary driver role,\u201d said SCT Logistics head of motorsport programs Andrew Jones.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis ability and talent in a race car are world class and combined with the way he connects with people, he has played an instrumental role in the progress that SCT Motorsport has made during his time as part of the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of everyone within our group, I\u2019d like to express our gratitude to Jaxon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope to see him on the Supercars grid again and genuinely wish him all the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evans was gracious as he now looks to find the next chapter in his career.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely thankful to SCT Logistics and the Smith family for the opportunity to compete full-time in Supercars,\u201d said the man who leads the 2025 GT World Challenge Australia Pro-Am standings with Elliott Schutte.<\/p>\n

The revelation heightens the suspense around who\u2019ll snap up the sixth and final Toyota seat available for 2026.<\/p>\n

Chaz Mostert<\/a> and Ryan Wood<\/a> are continuing on at Walkinshaw Andretti United, while Andr\u00e9 Heimgartner<\/a>, Cameron Hill<\/a> and Macauley Jones<\/a> have been confirmed for the three gigs attached to BJR-owned licences.<\/p>\n

Super2 champion Zach Bates<\/a> has long been touted as an option given his family\u2019s Toyota ties, although he is also thought to be in the hunt at Matt Stone Racing.<\/p>\n

Tommy Smith\u2019s name has been bandied about at times also, if he were to return from open-wheel racing abroad (most recently 2025 Indy NXT). He subbed in aboard the Trans Am entry ordinarily piloted by his uncle Jack Smith at The Bend; a leap into Supercars would be a tall order however.<\/p>\n
