THE FALL SLATE

\nThe Patriots have competed in two tournaments thus far, the Tyler Invite and the Mississippi College Invite. At the Tyler Invite, the Patriots saw Carel Wessel<\/a>, Samuel Antwi<\/a>, Malo Poulesquen<\/a>, and Arthur Miquelard<\/a> each went 2-1, and Daniil Felker<\/a> went 3-0 in singles action. In doubles, the pairs of Felker and Wessel and Trevor Short<\/a> and Job Japelj<\/a> each went 2-0 in their two matches.

\nTHE SPRING 2025 SEASON
\n\u00a0
\nThe spring 2025 campaign for UT Tyler men’s tennis will go down as the best in the NCAA era of the program. They won the LSC Regular Season title and yet again punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. There, they made a deep run, taking down Midwestern State, Edinboro, and Azusa Pacific to fight their way to the NCAA Semifinals. There, they fought tough against Washburn, but would fall just short.
\n\u00a0
\nIn total, the Patriots finished 24-3 overall and saw\u00a0Carel Wessel<\/a><\/a>,\u00a0Artiom Dorofeev<\/a>, and\u00a0Daniil Felker<\/a><\/a>\u00a0each earn ITA All-America honors for their dominant efforts through the season. Dorofeev was also named the ITA Division II Rookie of the Year, and head coach\u00a0Chris Bizot<\/a>\u00a0was named the ITA South Central Region and LSC Coach of the Year.

\nRETURNING CORE AND STRONG NEWCOMERS
\n\u00a0
\nOn the men’s side, they will bring back all but two players from that memorable run. Included in that group are returning All-Americans Wessel, Felker, and Dorofeev. LSC Co-Newcomer of the Year\u00a0Martin Despodov<\/a>\u00a0and All-LSC honoree Malo Poulesquen<\/a> join a squad with plenty of depth.

\nManuel Lassacher<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Samuel Antwi<\/a><\/a>\u00a0join the men’s program as two highly touted recruits. Lassacher comes in as a top 15 ranked player in Austria, while Antwi was the #2 ranked player in the junior college ranks last season and also represented Ghana in the Davis Cup.

\nTHE ITA REGIONAL
\n\u00a0
\nThe ITA South Central Regional tournament will feature 65 total players battling it out in the singles and doubles draws as they look to qualify for the ITA Cup in October. 64 players will participate in the main singles draw, and 32 doubles teams will participate in the main draw for doubles.
\n\u00a0
\nThe tournament will provide major stakes in the biggest test of the fall for the women’s program. The winners of both singles and doubles draws will automatically qualify into next month’s ITA Cup, hosted in Rome, Georgia. 16 players and teams will make up the singles and doubles draws, with eight receiving automatic qualification. The remaining eight players and teams will be selected at-large, with those coming out of the pool of finalists and quarterfinalists from each regional site.

\nAction will take place at Midwestern State’s MSU Tennis Center along with Hamilton Park and Weeks Park.
