When asked about the company\u2019s market share, advisors told him: \u201cSir, he has 100%.\u201d Trump\u2019s response: \u201cWho the hell is he? What\u2019s his name?\u201d Learning it was Jensen Huang of Nvidia, Trump admitted: \u201cWhat the hell is Nvidia? I\u2019ve never heard of it before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What made Trump change his stance on Nvidia\u2019s breakup<\/p>\n<p>The President explained his shift from confrontation to cooperation with the world\u2019s most valuable company. \u201cI figured we could go in and we could sort of break them up a little bit, get them a little competition,\u201d Trump said. \u201cAnd I found out it\u2019s not easy in that business.\u201dHis advisors painted a stark picture of Nvidia\u2019s technological moat, telling Trump it would take \u201cat least ten years to catch him if he ran Nvidia totally incompetently from now on.\u201d This assessment led Trump to conclude: \u201cAll right, let\u2019s go on to the next one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nvidia CEO wins over US President<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s tone completely changed after meeting Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who attended Wednesday\u2019s summit. \u201cAnd then I got to know Jensen, and now I see why,\u201d Trump said, praising Huang\u2019s achievements: \u201cWhat a job you\u2019ve done.\u201dThe relationship has proven beneficial for Nvidia. Last week, the Trump administration allowed the company to resume selling H20 AI chips to China as part of a trade agreement, reversing previous restrictions. Nvidia recently became the first company to exceed $4 trillion in market value, benefiting enormously from AI demand.
