Tennis<\/a> star Stefanos Tsitsipas has parted ways with coach Goran Ivanisevic after just two tournaments together.<\/p>\n

Ivanisevic joined Tsitsipas\u2019 team after the French Open and was in the stands for Tsitsipas\u2019 Wimbledon campaign, where the former world No.3 retired in the opening round with a back injury.<\/p>\n

Ivanisevic, a former Wimbledon champion and coach of Novak Djokovic, publicly slammed Tsitsipas for his preparation ahead of the grand slam tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he resolves certain off-court issues, he\u2019ll have a chance to return to where he belongs, because he\u2019s too good to be outside the top 10,\u201d Serbian network Sport Klub<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe says he wants to (return to the top level), but he\u2019s not doing anything. It\u2019s always \u2018I want, I want,\u2019 but I don\u2019t see any progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was shocked; I\u2019ve never seen a more unprepared player in my life. With this knee, I\u2019m three times fitter than him. It\u2019s really bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ivanisevic later said Tsitsipas wasn\u2019t happy with the public criticism, but the Greek star never addressed it.<\/p>\n

But three weeks later, the coach has officially been let go.<\/p>\n

Tsitsipas, who has now tumbled to No.29 in the rankings, announced Ivanisevic\u2019s departure on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with Goran Ivanisevic was brief but an intense experience and a truly valuable chapter in my journey,\u201d Tsitsipas wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thankful for the time, effort and energy he dedicated to me and my team.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we are now following our separate ways, I have only respect for Goran \u2014 not just for what he\u2019s achieved in tennis, but also for who he is as a person.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish him nothing but the very best moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

It continues a tumultuous period for the two-time grand slam finalist, who recently split with girlfriend Paula Bedosa<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pair, who started dating just over two years ago, have unfollowed each other on social media and have erased all traces of their relationship from Instagram.<\/p>\n

Tsitsipas and Badosa\u2019s relationship has had a rocky history, including a well documented reconciliation in May 2024 after a break earlier that month.<\/a><\/p>\n

At that point, it appeared the pair had put their differences behind them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are together,\u201d Tsitsipas said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome people have made up stories about us, but Paula didn\u2019t do anything wrong and neither did I.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt had been difficult for us to be apart and I have been through some very difficult times.\u201d<\/p>\n

The duo, which were dubbed \u2018Tsitsidosa\u2019 during their time together, are yet to make public comment on the situation, but it\u2019s understood they have split amicably.<\/p>\n

As well as a successful five-year stint as Djokovic\u2019s coach, Ivanisevic has worked with Milos Raonic, Tomas Berdych, Marin Cilic and Elena Rybakina.<\/p>\n
