Daylight saving will start at 2am on October 5.<\/p>\n
That means at 2am, your clock will jump forward to 3am AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time).<\/p>\n
Are the clocks going forward or backwards?<\/p>\n
The clocks will move forward by one hour.<\/p>\n
Most clocks linked to technology such as smart phones, computers, and TVs will automatically adjust to their relevant time zones.<\/p>\n
But analogue clocks such as the ones on your oven and microwave will most likely need to be manually adjusted.<\/p>\n
Which states and territories have daylight saving?<\/p>\n
In Australia, clocks will move forward by one hour in:<\/p>\n
Australian Capital TerritoryNew South WalesSouth AustraliaTasmaniaVictoria<\/p>\n
These states will lose an hour of sleep on October 5.<\/p>\n
Norfolk Island does switch over to daylight saving time, but Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands do not.<\/p>\n
The Northern Territory, Queensland, and Western Australia do not observe daylight saving time.<\/p>\n
When does daylight saving end?<\/p>\n
