The Domino\u2019s Men\u2019s Super League shoots back into action this weekend with rivalry fixtures that ensure a blockbuster start to the season.<\/p>\n

It begins on Friday night in Cork, where UCC Demons host local rivals Energywise Ireland Neptune at Mardyke Arena in a rematch of the heated battle from last year\u2019s Domino\u2019s Men\u2019s Super League Playoffs.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s an early battle for supremacy in Kerry also, where Flexachem KCYMS and Garvey\u2019s Tralee Warriors face off. At the same time, newly promoted Limerick Celtics welcome Ballincollig BC to the Treaty County for their first taste of top-level basketball.<\/p>\n

Dublin derbies between Bright St. Vincent\u2019s and last year\u2019s beaten finalists Killester on the Northside and UCD Marian and Griffith College \u00c9anna on the South side of the Liffey, along with the meeting of Belfast Star and Ejs Sligo All-Stars at Newforge, ensure no game will be easy to predict to start the season.<\/p>\n

The Domino\u2019s Women\u2019s Super League also tips-off this weekend with live stream coverage on basketballireland.tv, as teams battle it out across the regular season, before another gripping playoff bracket in March and April to determine who\u2019ll be crowned Domino\u2019s Women\u2019s Super League champions.<\/p>\n

SETU Waterford Wildcats topped the regular-season charts last season. Still, ultimately it was third-seeded Killester BC who triumphed at the National Basketball Arena to secure back-to-back championships.<\/p>\n

Utility Trust St. Paul\u2019s enjoyed a fairytale run from the 8th seed to the Domino\u2019s Women\u2019s Super League final \u2013 can they have another deep post-season run? Can McEvoy\u2019s Cavan Eagles retain their top-tier status beyond one season?<\/p>\n

There are endless questions to be answered as the opening round gets underway on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Domino\u2019s Pizza joined as a sponsor in February of this year. At that point, Basketball Ireland CEO John Feehan told us, \u201cTo have a brand like Domino\u2019s invest in our leagues is a massive moment for Irish basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir support will help us grow the game, reach new audiences, and continue building momentum for the sport in every corner of Ireland.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sport is in rude good health with our schools, clubs, community teams and international teams thriving. Bringing another globally known brand to the sport, alongside AIG and Nike, makes everybody feel good about the way the sport is heading and increases our appeal to those yet to become part of the buzz.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new season, up and down the country, will provide another opportunity for more to do just that.<\/p>\n
