{"id":187782,"date":"2025-10-03T15:56:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T15:56:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/187782\/"},"modified":"2025-10-03T15:56:10","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T15:56:10","slug":"st-helens-interested-in-melbourne-storm-prop-tui-kamikamica-total-rugby-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/187782\/","title":{"rendered":"St Helens \u2018interested\u2019 in Melbourne Storm prop Tui Kamikamica \u2013 Total Rugby League"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                        <a href=\"https:\/\/www.totalrl.com\/super-league-club-interested-in-melbourne-storm-prop-tui-kamikamica\/\" title=\"Permanent Link to St Helens \u2018interested\u2019 in Melbourne Storm prop Tui Kamikamica\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img width=\"675\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/MixCollage-03-Oct-2025-12-17-PM-5770-675x360.jpg\" class=\"bestwp-post-thumbnail-single wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>SUPER LEAGUE side St Helens are reportedly interested in Melbourne Storm prop Tui Kamikamica.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s according to\u00a0The Daily Telegraph, which has reported that the forward, who will play for the Storm in Sunday\u2019s NRL Grand Final, faces a pay cut of A$260,000 in order to remain with the Victoria club.<\/p>\n<p>Kamikamica is off contract at the end of the 2025 NRL campaign, with his current deal standing at $400,000.<\/p>\n<p>Though Melbourne have an option in their favour for 2026, they can only afford a minimum wage offer of $140,000 due to pressures on the salary cap.<\/p>\n<p>And whilst a move to South Sydney Rabbitohs collapsed at the last minute and despite Saints looking at the Fijian prop,\u00a0Kamikamica\u2019s preference is to stay at the Storm.<\/p>\n<p>Tui would love to finish his career at Melbourne but they have salary-cap pressures,\u201d said his manager Jeff Jurotte.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has had an offer from the Storm and he has interest from St Helens, but his preference is to stay in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was close to going to Souths with Wayne but unfortunately the deal fell through.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had some talks with the Broncos but that didn\u2019t work out either.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTui is still in brilliant shape, if you look at him with his shirt off, he has one of the best physiques in the NRL.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has a young family and he\u2019s got commitments here, so ideally Tui can stay in the NRL.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SUPER LEAGUE side St Helens are reportedly interested in Melbourne Storm prop Tui Kamikamica.
