KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Western Michigan women’s tennis team wrapped up hosting the opening day of the 2025 MAC Women’s Tennis Fall Individual Championships.<\/p>\n

Sophomore Friday Weijerman picked up an early win in the play-in match in he singles bracket, defeating Miami’s Malu Oliveira 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. She advanced to the first round but fell to Northern Illinois’ Irmak Budak 6-3, 1-6, 2-6. Weijerman will take on Eastern Michigan’s Matilde Parreira\u00a0

\nin a consolation match on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lola Glantz<\/a> fell to Ball State’s Sarah Shahbaz 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 0-6 and play EMU’s Lara Diaz Zayas in a consolation match on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both of WMU’s doubles teams fell and will play in consolation matches, also on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
