Early dominance\u00a0<\/p>\n
Panathinaikos is never an easy away trip but the blaugranes showed no nerves as they started well, scoring 11 unanswered points. However, the Greeks fought back with 11 points on the bounce to level things up. Cale and Norris injected pace into the Bar\u00e7a attack and at the end of the first quarter Joan Pe\u00f1arroya’s team led 26-17.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the second quarter the home side fought back once more. With 15 minutes gone they took the lead at 35-33 and from then on the teams exchanged blows for Bar\u00e7a to go in at half time with a 51-45 lead.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Punter added his quality at the start of the third quarter with consecutive three pointers which helped Bar\u00e7a surge ahead at 75-69 come the end of the third quarter. At the start of the final period Shengalia’s experience under the basket was a key factor as were Clyburn’s points at key moments. Bar\u00e7a held off Panathinaikos for a 103-95 win to go into Sunday’s opening league fixture against Valencia in the best possible frame of mind.\u00a0<\/p>\n
