The Golden State Warriors<\/a> had a relatively quiet media day, with Mike Dunleavy Jr.<\/a> and Steve Kerr<\/a> holding off on big statements until Jonathan Kuminga<\/a> finalizes his free agency decision. Veterans Stephen Curry<\/a>, Jimmy Butler<\/a>, and Draymond Green<\/a> all gave measured answers about Kuminga, with the expectation he\u2019ll return later this week.<\/p>\n

But while things were muted in San Francisco, a frustrated comment from a young big man in Utah may have put the Warriors<\/a> on notice.<\/p>\n

Walker Kessler Voices Frustration<\/p>\n

At Utah Jazz<\/a> media day, Walker Kessler<\/a> admitted he was \u201cdefinitely a little frustrated<\/a>\u201d after failing to reach a rookie-scale extension with the Jazz<\/a>. As Tony Jones of The Athletic reported<\/a>, Kessler and the team won\u2019t agree to a deal before the deadline, setting him up for restricted free agency next summer.<\/p>\n

The Warriors<\/a> have worked to patch holes this offseason with veterans like Horford, Gary Payton II<\/a>, and De\u2019Anthony Melton<\/a>, plus depth moves such as Pat Spencer<\/a>. But the glaring need for a long-term rim protector remains. Kessler fits that profile perfectly.<\/p>\n
