Former Gold Coast Titans<\/a> hooker Sean Mullany has officially joined the Mackay Cutters for the 2026 season, the official feeder team for Queensland rivals the North Queensland Cowboys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After being released by the NRL club at the end of the season, along with eight other players, the 26-year-old initially joined on a train-and-trial contract before earning a full-time development deal.<\/p>\n

The New Zealand-born hooker made three first-grade appearances for the Titans, debuting in Round 5 against the Dolphins<\/a> in a 36-10 loss, and notably starting against the Grand Finalists, the Brisbane Broncos<\/a>, in Round 14.<\/p>\n

Across his limited NRL game time, Mullany recorded 61 tackles across his games with a 95.3 per cent efficiency rate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite showing promise on the field, the hooker was not offered a contract extension as the Titans embarked on a new era under newly appointed head coach Josh Hannay.<\/p>\n

Mullany will return to the Mackay Cutters for the QLD Cup, with the club confirming the one-year deal on social media, where he previously earned Player of the Year honours in 2022 and captained the team in both 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n

His return is expected to strengthen the Cutters\u2019 spine and provide a boost for next year\u2019s campaign, after the club finished 12th in the 2025 QLD Cup season, winning just seven of their 20 games.<\/p>\n
