Dame Noeline Taurua won\u2019t coach the Silver Ferns for the upcoming Constellation Cup against Australia, it\u2019s finally been confirmed.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s almost inevitable she won\u2019t coach the Silver Ferns again in 2025.<\/p>\n

Only days after marathon mediation meetings were held between the stood down Taurua and Netball New Zealand, it\u2019s been confirmed the mastercoach will remain stripped of her role \u2013 at least until the end of November when the Ferns international season ends.<\/p>\n

NNZ said they were unable to reach a resolution over claims of a \u201cpsychologically unsafe\u201d training environment within the Silver Ferns, despite mediation where the opening day\u2019s session reportedly hit the 10-hour mark.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite considerable and genuine effort from Netball New Zealand and Dame Noeline Taurua, a resolution regarding the Silver Ferns high performance programme and environment has not yet been reached,\u201d NNZ said in a statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past few weeks NNZ has pursued every pathway with Dame Noeline to bring her back into the Silver Ferns environment at this time. <\/p>\n

\u201cNNZ is disappointed that this has not been possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that there will be questions about this process and strong interest in the future leadership of the Silver Ferns, but we can\u2019t make further comment right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taurua is yet to make any statement on the matter – but with her coaching contract up early next year, there\u2019s fears she may have coached her final match for the Ferns.<\/p>\n

NNZ confirmed Yvette McCausland-Durie will remain as interim coach for the Constellation Cup and their following Northern Tour against England, which runs at the end of November.<\/p>\n

She\u2019ll again be supported by Liana Leota as assistant coach.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a brutal blow for Taurua\u2019s hopes of returning to the head coach role and comes only days after star Kiwi Grace Nweke broke the player silence to issue a teary plea<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNoels, if you\u2019re listening \u2026 we love you and we miss you and we want you back here,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s since been reported that after Nweke\u2019s emotional statement, players were warned in a NNZ memo that \u201ccontracts could be in jeopardy\u201d should they speak on the matter.<\/p>\n

There remains unrest within the playing group stemming back<\/a> to the Silver Ferns\u2019 tour of Sydney in January.<\/p>\n

At the time, it\u2019s claimed up to seven players were concerned over Taurua\u2019s training environment \u2013 with two players then taking their concerns to the New Zealand Netball Players Association.<\/p>\n

The NZNPA is yet to make any statement on the matter.<\/p>\n

As it stands, the Silver Ferns aren\u2019t scheduled to play any further international Tests this year before heading into a 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign.<\/p>\n
