TOLEDO, Ohio \u2013 Indiana State women’s golf heads to the Catawba Island Club in Toledo, Ohio for the Toledo Rocket Classic, held on Oct. 6-7.

\nThe Sycamores are part of a six-team field, featuring no other teams from the Missouri Valley. This is a 54-hole tournament with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start both days; Monday the teams will play 36 holes.

\nThe Sycamores are coming off a weekend close to home, finishing tied in seventh place at the Butler Fall Invitational. Yang Tai<\/a> led the Sycamores, earning her MVC Golfer of the Week<\/a> honors. She finished with a score of eight-over through the three-round tournament for a sixth-place finish.

\nIn the first two tournaments of the fall, the Sycamores have been a first-round team, carding the best round score in the first round of each event. At the Redbird Invitational, Indiana State scored +20 before ending the tournament with a +24 and +35. Last week at Butler, the Sycamores opened with a round of +20 and shot +23 and +21 in the next two rounds.

\nHead coach Greg Towne<\/a> is taking all eight golfers with him for this tournament, meaning season debuts for Eliza Baker<\/a> and Nicole Feistl<\/a>. In Baker’s last tournament last spring, she tied her season low round in the first 18 of the Spring Invitational, and Feistl\u00a0capped her season with a 77 in the second round of the tournament.

\nFollowing the two-day, three-round tournament in Toledo, Indiana State will look to defend its back-to-back tournament wins at the Braun Intercollegiate in Evansville, Ind. The Sycamores won in the fall of 2023 on a playoff win courtesy of Yang Tai<\/a>, then in the fall of 2024 Indiana State won outright backed by Tai winning the individual low medal and two other Sycamores, including Alana Gilbert<\/a>, tying in fifth place.
