{"id":190240,"date":"2025-10-04T20:57:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-04T20:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/190240\/"},"modified":"2025-10-04T20:57:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T20:57:06","slug":"red-bull-always-complain-lando-norris-claps-back-at-max-verstappen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/190240\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Red Bull always complain\u2019 &#8211; Lando Norris claps back at Max Verstappen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lando Norris has shrugged off Max Verstappen\u2019s anger at him during qualifying at the Singapore Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>Four-time world champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/852\/max-verstappen\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Verstappen <\/a>was left unhappy with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/912058\/lando-norris\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Norris <\/a>for going slowly in front of him in the final sector as the Red Bull driver attempted to improve his last lap and challenge for pole position.<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen ultimately aborted his lap and missed out on pole by 0.182 seconds to Mercedes\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/912063\/george-russell\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">George Russell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>His race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase was heard telling Verstappen over team radio \u201cyou can thank your mate for that\u201d after the chequered flag.<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen was clearly still raging when asked about the incident in parc ferme as he sent an apparent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/news\/1083437\/1\/it-will-be-remembered-max-verstappen-fires-warning-lando-norris\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">warning shot to Norris<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s what happens when there&#8217;s a car in front of you just cruising two seconds in front,\u201d Verstappen said, before adding: \u201dThat\u2019s noted, it will be remembered as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked which driver had got in his way, Verstappen replied: \u201cNot Oscar! So that was a bit of a shame, otherwise I think it could have been close for pole.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Verstappen had calmed down when he faced further questions during the FIA press conference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You need every kind of clean air that you can have on a Q3 lap, especially because you&#8217;re fully on the limit with braking and everything. And I lost a bit of downforce with that. So I went straight on,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Lando Norris responds with swipe at Red Bull<\/p>\n<p>Norris, who is 44 points clear of Verstappen in the championship with seven rounds remaining, aimed a cheeky dig at Red Bull when asked about his rival\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ah, they always complain. They complain about everything. It&#8217;s Red Bull. I was like three seconds ahead or something. I can\u2019t work it out,\u201d Norris is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.<\/p>\n<p>The Briton, who starts two places behind title rival and McLaren teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/1014409\/oscar-piastri\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oscar Piastri <\/a>in fifth, revealed he has been battling illness this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there\u2019s anywhere you don\u2019t want to be poorly it\u2019s here but I am better today,\u201d Norris told Sky Sports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYesterday and the day before I was struggling a little bit.
