Welcome to\u00a0Craft of the Draft’s\u00a0maiden Mock Draft for 2025, with a total of 23 selections made in a ‘live’ count of how opening night for this year’s intake might unfold.<\/p>\n

Matched bids for Academy and father-son draft prospects are included in the Mock Draft, as are the estimated landing spots for free agency compensation selections.<\/p>\n

Matched bids for clubs have seen their subsequent selection(s) dissolve from the draft order, pending the timing of the bids.<\/p>\n

The 14 clubs involved in the Mock Draft were split between\u00a0Craft of the Draft\u00a0analysts Jonty Ralphsmith and Mitch Keating.<\/p>\n

Jonty’s Picks – West Coast, Essendon, Hawthorn, Sydney, Fremantle, GWS and Geelong<\/p>\n

Mitch’s Picks – Richmond, Gold Coast, St Kilda, Carlton, Western Bulldogs<\/a>, Adelaide and Brisbane<\/p>\n

Not Involved – North Melbourne, Melbourne, Port Adelaide and Collingwood<\/p>\n

1. Pick 1 – West Coast<\/p>\n

The Gippsland Power talent looks to be exactly what any rebuilding club is after. Reliable, versatile and ready to have an impact.<\/p>\n

Duursma sees his best role in midfield, which he’ll likely transition to after starting his career in defence as a mobile intercept and attack hybrid backman.<\/p>\n

He can also go forward and be an aerial threat to impact games late, which he did on a number of occasions for the Power this year.<\/p>\n
