The sequel, based on the popular video game, hits theaters on Dec. 5 with Josh Hutcherson<\/a> returning as Mike Schmidt in the aftermath of a brutal supernatural showdown in the first film. In the latest Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s 2 trailer, Mike is a little more prepared, but there are only so many ways to get ready for a battle with possessed animatronics.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe film picks up one year after the events at Freddy Fazbear\u2019s Pizza in 2023\u2019s Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s. \u201cThe stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town\u2019s first-ever Fazfest,\u201d a brief synopsis of the film reads. Vanessa Shelly (Elizabeth Lail) also returns, seemingly recovered from the coma she ended up in at the end of the previous film. Meanwhile, Mike\u2019s younger sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), still hasn\u2019t learned the truth about her unusual friends.<\/p>\n \n\tMore lore from the video game seeps into the film as Mike wields the Freddy Mask, a mechanic that deters the animatronics. \u201cThere\u2019s no way that\u2019ll work,\u201d he says in the clip before picking it up anyway.
