Scottie Scheffler hit one of the shots of the day at the British Open Thursday, and almost simultaneously, a spectator unleashed their own. <\/p>\n

As Scheffler sent a picture-perfect approach shot sailing toward the hole on the 17th during the first round of the tournament, one attendee at Royal Portrush Golf Club passed some gas \u2013 very loudly. <\/p>\n

The broadcast picked up the noise for the world to hear, and the commentators couldn\u2019t get over the ridiculous moment. <\/p>\n

As the fart noise reverberated, play-by-play announcer Andrew Cotter simply said, \u201cOh,\u201d before bursting into uncontrollable laughter. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you laughing about, Andrew?\u201d the co-commentator prodded, laughing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so much to say about that shot,\u201d Cotter replied, as the pair continued to giggle. \u201cThat\u2019s extraordinary. Let\u2019s stick to the golf.\u201d<\/p>\n

The co-commentator couldn\u2019t help but make one more quip: \u201cJust a little bit of wind from behind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scheffler, the world No. 1 entering the British Open, finished his first round at 3-under par.<\/p>\n

For Scheffler, perhaps the moment will be a nice way to lighten up after his philosophical comments stirred buzz ahead of the tournament.\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of people that make it to what they thought was going to fulfil them in life, and you get there, you get to No. 1 in the world, and they\u2019re like, what\u2019s the point?\u201d Scheffler said in the vulnerable moment on Tuesday. \u201cI really do believe that. Because what is the point? Why do I want to win this tournament so bad?\u201d<\/p>\n
