FORT MYERS, Fla.\u00a0\u2013 Florida Gulf Coast University’s men’s golf team will host The Island at West Bay Club Collegiate Invitational, starting Monday at the West Bay Club in Estero, Florida.<\/p>\n
The Island at West Bay Club Collegiate Invitational last year in 2024 was the first time since 2022 that FGCU had hosted a tournament. The tournament is free and open to the public<\/p>\n
A total of 12\u00a0premier colleague golf programs will be competing at West Bay:\u00a0Florida Gulf Coast University is the host school. Florida Atlantic University. University of Central Florida. University of South Florida. Jacksonville University. Stetson University. Elon University. George Mason University. Middle Tennessee State University. Coastal Carolina University. DePaul University. Eastern Michigan University will also be in attendance.\u00a0 Rounds one and two are scheduled for Monday, with the third and final round to follow on\u00a0Tuesday. Round one begins at( FILL TIME HERE), and the tournament will pick back up Tuesday ( FILL TIME HERE TOO)\u00a0West Bay Club presents a par 72, 6,960-yard course revealing the natural beauty of the Southwest Florida landscape. Live results of the invitational will be available through Scoreboard<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Eagles are coming off the Jim DeLaPa where Sophomore Sacha Ruiz<\/a> paced FGCU with a ninth-place finish, carding a three-round total of 207 that included a final-round 66 after improving each day. Teammates Nolan Harper<\/a>, Brett Moore<\/a>, and Sebastian Gamboa<\/a> rounded out the scoring as the Eagles recorded 43 birdies to tie for sixth in the field, led by Ruiz’s 12, while also shining on par-fives at eight-under for the weekend.<\/p>\n For weather updates, follow FGCU Men’s Golf on X at FGCU_Mgolf.
