MACON, Ga. – North Florida men’s tennis picked up 13 wins over three days of competition at the Gridiron Classic hosted by Mercer from Oct. 3-5 at LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.<\/p>\n
The Ospreys were headlined by Kyle Piqueras<\/a>, who went 4-0 in singles play over the weekend and took home the Flight C2 singles title with a straight-set win over UNF teammate Benjamin Scott<\/a>. Scott had the biggest win of his career thus far during the second day of singles with a three-set thriller over the top seed in his draw to reach the finals.<\/p>\n UNF finished the weekend with a 13-7 overall record, as 10 of the 13 wins came during singles competition. Saturday was the highlight of the tournament for the Ospreys with an 8-1 combined mark between both doubles and singles from the four players who competed in the tournament.<\/p>\n North Florida will return shortly with the ITA Southeast Regional Championship taking place from Oct. 8-13 at the Alfred A.
