Kyrie Irving<\/a> is undoubtedly an integral member of the Dallas Mavericks<\/a>\u2018 rotation. Given how valuable he has been for the team, his absence is expected to have a major impact on their performance. While there have been expectations of him to make an earlier return, especially with recent training videos<\/a> providing valuable updates on his condition, the guard himself addressed his potential recovery timeline<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no timetable for when I\u2019m coming back,\u201d Irving said while responding to questions on his livestream. \u201cSo please don\u2019t ask me when I\u2019m coming back. Please don\u2019t badger me with all the questions like, \u2018Hey, if you\u2019re healthy by November, what do you think about it?\u2019 Please don\u2019t badger me with any questions, guys. I\u2019m going to be ready when I\u2019m ready. I\u2019m taking the necessary steps to put my best foot forward, and I\u2019m enjoying it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The nine-time All-Star was grateful for the support he has received from the fans, as he expressed his appreciation for the encouragement during his \u201cdown times\u201d. With regard to his approach to recovery and getting back to a place where he can perform like he used to, he added:<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd of course, there was doubt. Naturally, I have doubts like everyone else. But I was fueled by the next generation even more because I know when I\u2019m able to show the resilience, the authenticity, the ugly times that go on with rehab or coming back from injury, I feel like that will, in turn, spark the next brain or inspire the next person. Or inspire some of my ACL twins out there, you know, who tore their ACL and dealt with all of the rigors of rehab. So shout out to all you guys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kyrie Irving is among the several players who sustained a major injury last season<\/a>. Given that the rate of players suffering such injuries has increased dramatically over the last few years, his intention of inspiring them by making a full comeback<\/a> appears noble.<\/p>\n

Earlier reports had indicated that the star guard could be eyeing a return to the court by January 2026, a crucial time for the Mavericks as they ramp up to make a playoff push this season. However, this latest update could put a damper on their plans.<\/p>\n

With Irving healthy, the Mavs seem like a title-contending squad. Led by a star big man in Anthony Davis<\/a>, Dallas features several other talented and experienced players to fill out its roster to make it a competitive team.<\/p>\n

Last season, Kyrie Irving averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game on 47.3% shooting from the field and 40.1% from three-point range. Given his overall influence on offense, along with the value of his contributions in facilitating wins for the team, his absence is expected to be even more noticeable.<\/p>\n

Dallas has attempted to address this with the addition of D\u2019Angelo Russell<\/a> in the offseason. While not as impactful as Irving, Russell will play a huge role in the star\u2019s absence.
