Adelaide\u2019s Andriana Petrakis continues to blaze a trail in Australian tennis, claiming her third consecutive national singles title at the Australian Tennis Championships in Melbourne, and, for the first time, securing the women\u2019s doubles crown alongside partner Chloe Dunn from Queensland.<\/p>\n

Competing in the tournament for players with intellectual disabilities, Petrakis defeated Kelly Wren of New South Wales in the singles final, showcasing her trademark mix of precision and power. Her victories mark a significant milestone in her sporting journey, and in the growing visibility of athletes with disabilities on the national stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my third title in a row in Melbourne, and I\u2019m feeling very proud and happy with myself for all the hard work I\u2019ve been doing. My week was on fire,\u201d Petrakis told Neos Kosmos, expressing her gratitude for another remarkable performance.<\/p>\n

Ranked No.1 in Australia and No.5 in the world in the Intellectual Disability category, Petrakis is not only a fierce competitor but also a role model for inclusion and perseverance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel grateful, honoured, delighted, privileged and humbled,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s been a straight-down-to-business week full of focus, bravery and spirit, and I had so much fun!\u201d<\/p>\n

Her success story extends beyond the court. In January 2022, she met fellow Adelaide tennis star Thanasi Kokkinakis at the Adelaide International, an encounter she describes as a memorable highlight.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a huge privilege meeting him again. I\u2019ve been one of his supportive fans for years,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a short chat after his training, and he encouraged everyone to keep up the awesome work and keep putting in the effort in the tennis world.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Petrakis continues to add to her growing list of achievements, her message of determination and joy resonates widely across Australia\u2019s tennis community.<\/p>\n
