President Trump has nearly all of the late night hosts in his crosshairs, including Jimmy Fallon, whose show the president was once a guest on. But, despite Trump\u2019s call for Fallon to be fired, Fallon himself doesn\u2019t seem too worried.<\/p>\n

Appearing on CNBC\u2019s \u201cSquawk on the Street\u201d on Tuesday, in support of his new unscripted series \u201cOn Brand,\u201d Fallon didn\u2019t actually respond to Trump\u2019s push for his firing. When host Carl Quintanilla asked the NBC host about working on an FCC-licensed station and how he\u2019s thinking about monologue jokes following Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s suspension by ABC, Fallon noted that he jabs at both Republicans and Democrats.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur show has never really been that political. We hit both sides equally, and we try to make everybody laugh, and that\u2019s really the way our show works,\u201d Fallon said. \u201cOur monologues are kind of the same that we\u2019ve been doing since Johnny Carson was doing \u2018The\u00a0Tonight Show.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSo really, I just keep my head down and make sure the jokes are funny,\u201d he continued. \u201cI have great writers, clever, smart writers. And we\u2019re just trying to make the best show we possibly can and entertain everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Indeed, Fallon\u2019s monologues often poke fun at both President Trump and former president Joe Biden. <\/p>\n

The NBC host recently showed solidarity with Kimmel,<\/a> during the latter\u2019s suspension, calling him a \u201cdecent, funny and loving guy.\u201d Fallon then did a bit where every joke that treated Trump as a punchline was censored.<\/p>\n

Trump was a guest on Fallon\u2019s \u201cTonight Show\u201d back in 2016, and the moment went viral quickly, drawing harsh criticism as the host ruffled the president\u2019s hair during the interview. Trump has since soured on Fallon and late night in general, and during Kimmel\u2019s brief suspension at ABC, Trump\u00a0called for NBC to follow suit<\/a>\u00a0and cancel \u201ctwo total losers,\u201d Fallon and Seth Meyers.<\/p>\n
