Former Wallabies winger Nick Cummins has been credited with saving a little girl\u2019s life at a Melbourne playground on the weekend.<\/p>\n
The 38-year-old retired outside back, affectionately known as the \u2018Honey Badger\u2019, sprang into action on Saturday morning when a three-year-old girl started choking and has been hailed by locals for his actions.<\/p>\n

Cummins, who hung up his boots in 2016, noticed the little girl choking at the Lower Eltham Playground in Melbourne\u2019s north and her family has detailed the frightening incident on Facebook.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to thank the man who saved my granddaughter\u2019s life on Saturday, 4th October at the Lower Eltham Playground,\u201d the girl\u2019s grandmother Robyn, wrote in a local Facebook group.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was her 3rd birthday and my daughter (her mother) was there preparing for the family to arrive.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaddy started choking on a soft lolly and my daughter was beside herself trying to apply first aid to no avail.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen a \u2018big strong young bloke\u2019 appeared from nowhere, and after a couple of unsuccessful attempts held Maddy upside down applying a couple of extra strong thumps which successfully dislodged it from her trachea.<\/p>\n
\u201cGod bless you, whoever you are, and we will all be forever grateful to you \u2014 each year we will remember you.\u201d<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure if he would want to be named or not, but since he so readily jumped in to help and I\u2019m sure he would be grateful for the thanks; the man who saved her was Nick \u2018Honey Badger\u2019 Cummins.\u201d<\/p>\n News.com.au reached out to Cummins\u2019 management, who confirmed that it was the former Wallabies<\/a> and Western Force<\/a> star who leapt into action to aid the little girl.<\/p>\n
