On tonight\u2019s premiere of NBC\u2019s Chicago P.D., fans learned what happens to Toya Turner\u2019s character, Officer Kiana Cook, following the actress\u2019s exit from the series.<\/p>\n

Kiana was last seen in the Season 12 finale \u201cVows,\u201d as an honored guest at Detective Kim Burgess\u2019 wedding to Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger).<\/p>\n
In tonight\u2019s episode, aptly titled \u201cConsequences,\u201d it is revealed that Kiana \u201ctook a permanent spot in the 17th,\u201d due to Voight\u2019s Intelligence Unit being put on the back burner following an investigation into his involvement in the death of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy).<\/p>\n
Voight confirmed her new position in a conversation with the new boss in town, Commander Devlin (Joel Murray), who declined to reinstate his team even though they had been cleared in the matter concerning Reid. The Intelligent Unit\u2019s leader was pushing for the team to get back to business before they lost any more of their colleagues.<\/p>\n
Turner joined the cast in 2024,<\/a>\u00a0making her debut early in Season 12. The character is a former tactical officer demoted to patrol by her supervisor after noting his tendencies to avoid any real work to preserve his pension. She catches the attention of Intelligence after helping catch the killer of their latest addition, Detective Emily Martel. She is later recruited by Voight (Jason Beghe), whom she helped with a case involving teenage girls killing their abusers.<\/p>\n Deadline revealed exclusively in June that Turner would be leaving the show<\/a> for reasons unknown after one season.<\/p>\n At the time, she said of her departure, \u201cMy time on\u00a0Chicago P.D.\u00a0has come to a close.
