Golden Boy announced yesterday evening that Regis Prograis vs Joseph Diaz Jr will serve as the co-feature for their August 2nd Oscar Duarte vs Kenneth Sims Jr show in Chicago.<\/p>\n
Both men are well, well past their sell-by dates. Prograis (29-3, 24 KO) has dropped two straight to Devin Haney and Jack Catterall, suffering three knockdowns in the process, and hasn\u2019t turned in an eye-catching performance since knocking out Jose Zepeda in 2022.<\/p>\n
Diaz (34-7-1, 15 KO) is in even worse shape. Now 2-6 in the last four years, his only victories in that span came over professional B-side Jerry Perez and 6-4-1 Jorge Luis Valencia Diaz. Undersized, under-motivated, and dogged with years of addiction issues, the former Olympian has reduced himself to a cautionary tale at the ripe old age of 32. \u201cRougarou\u201d doesn\u2019t have much left in the tank, but I\u2019m not convinced Diaz has anything.<\/p>\n
