\n\tFollowing his WWI drama All Quiet on the Western Front<\/a>, Felix Kammerer<\/a>\u2018s next starring role takes him to Nazi-occupied Germany<\/p>\n

\n\tAt Monday\u2019s Los Angeles premiere of Guillermo del Toro<\/a>\u2018s Frankenstein<\/a>, debuting Oct. 17 in select theaters and Nov. 7 on Netflix<\/a>, the actor revealed to Deadline that he\u2019s already begun training for his upcoming WWII-era tennis biopic Break<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re just in the last moments of developing and getting ready to have a plan. I think we\u2019re aiming to shoot it next year,\u201d said Kammerer on the red carpet at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. \u201cIt\u2019s a fantastic film, an amazing story, and we\u2019re just bringing back the same team from All Quiet: costume, music, set design, production. And Daniel Br\u00fchl<\/a> directing is something I would have never imagined, but is, I think the perfect choice for that film.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDirected by Br\u00fchl, who co-starred with Kammerer in 2022\u2019s All Quiet on the Western Front and Ron Howard\u2019s new film Eden, Break tells the story of real-life German tennis champion Gottfried von Cramm (Kammerer), who found himself in the crosshairs of the Nazi regime as his sporting star rose in the 1930s.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough Kammerer is far from Olympic-ready, he noted, \u201cI have started training for that, just occasionally, but I will start training really hard about January, for let\u2019s say, seven, eight months, just playing tennis all day, all week.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBecause I\u2019ve never held a tennis racquet before, I\u2019ve never really played,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI\u2019ve had three or four lessons. Otherwise, I have no idea about tennis. I need to get into that now.\u201d<\/p>\n
