The Prince of Wales<\/a> has been praised for his candid interview during an episode of a travel show where he spoke about his plans for the future of the monarchy<\/a> and admitted his worries about the health<\/a> of his wife and father.<\/p>\n

The wide-ranging chat with Canadian actor Eugene Levy for his series The Reluctant Traveller \ufeffwas ground-breaking for showing Prince William at his most honest<\/a>, a side of the royal the public rarely sees.<\/p>\n

But there was one topic the 43-year-old did not touch during his appearance on the show.<\/p>\n

And that was because Levy “wasn’t necessarily interested” in talking about the long-running royal feud<\/a> with Prince Harry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the subject has been one of endless debate since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex<\/a> officially left their positions as senior working royals<\/a> for a life in the US, Levy had other things on his agenda during his time with the future King.<\/p>\n

“Were you ever told you couldn’t ask questions, for example, about Harry and Meghan? Did you find that was just something you didn’t want to go near?” ITV’s royal editor Chris Ship asked Levy, during a recent sit-down with the actor.<\/p>\n

“I was not told I couldn’t ask anything, but it wasn’t really up to me to get into that,” Levy replied.<\/p>\n

“I had no interest in asking him about that, because it was a very delicate issue and certainly not up to me to get into it.<\/p>\n

“There were other things I could lead the conversation to that might be interesting for him and interesting for the world to hear.<\/p>\n

“But that was something I wasn’t necessarily interested in getting in to.”\ufeff<\/p>\n

Levy was given extraordinary access to Prince William for the episode titled \ufeffLiving The Royal Life In The UK.<\/p>\n

The prince \ufeffgave the comedian a private tour of Windsor Castle<\/a>, including a walk through its grounds, before ending the day at a nearby pub where they chatted over a beer.<\/p>\n

During the episode, Prince William mentioned his estranged brother Prince Harry just once.<\/p>\n

He was speaking about his own young family and the pressures placed on the royal children in growing up in the public eye.<\/p>\n

“I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact people’s lives for the better,” Prince William told Levy, referencing Prince George.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”I hope we don’t go back to some of the practices in the past, that Harry and I had to grow up in \u2013 and I’ll do everything I can to make sure we don’t regress in that situation.”<\/p>\n

Levy told ITV he “didn’t have any barriers” on what he could speak to Prince William about, including Harry, but he deliberately chose to avoid the subject.<\/p>\n

“You never know, you don’t want to say something to him that would be upsetting, cause I don’t know if you still have beheadings over here,” he joked.<\/p>\n

“[But] I was taken aback by how at ease he made me feel, right from the very second.”<\/p>\n

He pointed to Prince William \ufeffarriving for their interview at Windsor Castle on an electric scooter.<\/p>\n

Levy said, he too, was surprised at how relaxed and candid the prince was during filming.<\/p>\n

“When he got to some of the more personal \ufeffitems [in the pub] I had the feeling this might be something that he was ready to talk about or wanted to talk about.<\/p>\n

“The thing that struck me the most was how normal a family life he has. At the end of the day, the pub interview, he had to leave to pick up his kids.”<\/p>\n

\ufeffIn a separate interview on talk show Lorraine, Levy said it was Prince William who “set the tone” for the interview.<\/p>\n

“There were no ‘dos and don’ts’, I received no instructions \ufeffabout what you can talk about and what you can’t talk about which is kind of an intimidating thing in of itself.<\/p>\n

“He set the tone for how casual and candid a conversation this is going to be. It was nice that he felt comfortable enough to be that candid.<\/p>\n

“I think he was quite ready and willing to be open and honest about it. If he wasn’t I don’t think he would have necessarily got into it in such detail.”<\/p>\n
