\n\tAndrew Garfield<\/a> didn\u2019t intentionally mean to make the internet obsess over his onstage look at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tWhile speaking with MTV\u2019s Josh Horowitz, the After the Hunt<\/a> actor was asked whether he knew of his \u201cpower\u201d onstage at the Jan. 5 awards show where, while presenting, he put on glasses and wore his shirt partly unbuttoned.<\/p>\n

\n\tGarfield disagreed and said he could give the \u201cexact play by play\u201d of what was circling in his mind to prove that it wasn\u2019t as \u201csexy\u201d as the internet thinks it was.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cEveryone else was projecting something entirely different,\u201d Garfield said before explaining what was going through his mind while presenting alongside Kerry Washington. <\/p>\n

\n\tHe said prior to taking the stage he felt \u201crelaxed,\u201d however that changed when walking out. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou\u2019re surrounded by your peers and other people you admire and have admired since you were a child,\u201d he said. \u201cYour heart starts racing and you start feeling this kind of unbridled terror.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIntent on hitting the correct stage mark and speaking at his right turn, Garfield said it was then that he realized that he couldn\u2019t see what was written on the teleprompter. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u2019Oh fuck. I can\u2019t actually see the fucking teleprompter. Did I bring my \u2014 [glasses]? Yes, they\u2019re in my right hand. Put the glasses on. Okay, great, now I can see,\u2019 \u201d he said of his thoughts as he put on his glasses.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis then recalled thinking, \u201c\u2019Oh shit, this shirt is too open. I do not want to give people this much of my flesh.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGarfield said that when he attempted to close his shirt, it just opened wider. \u201cI\u2019m like \u2018Okay, just breathe.\u2019 I breathe, and that makes me do a facial thing. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u00a0\u201cAnd then, everyone thinks I\u2019m trying to be sexy. But in truth, neurosis is, I guess, kinda sexy ultimately.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tTowards the end of the interview, Garfield added, \u201cMy astigmatism is fucking me up right now. Okay, I can kind of see, but now I see too much chest.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe look sparked reactions online of people (one user tweeted,<\/a> \u201cBREAKING NEWS: Andrew Garfield in his reading glasses just received a 55 minute standing ovation from me in my bed room.\u201d) with even the Globes seemingly poking fun sharing a montage<\/a> of Garfield onstage and on the red carpet with the caption, \u201cAll eyes on Andrew Garfield.\u201d<\/p>\n
