With The Block<\/a>\u00a02025 auctions just a few weeks away, host Scott Cam<\/a> has addressed rumours that serial buyer Adrian Portelli<\/a> has been \u201cbanned\u201d from attending. The billionaire entrepreneur purchased a total of nine properties on the\u00a0Channel 9 series<\/a>, including\u00a0all five homes last season<\/a>, before announcing he wouldn\u2019t be returning in 2025.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s since been revealed that he will be joining Channel 7\u2019s upcoming rival renovation series, My Reno Rules<\/a>, in 2026 alongside Dr Chris Brown<\/a> and former Block judge Neale Whitaker<\/a>. While Shelley Craft has already addressed Adrian\u2019s absence this season, telling Yahoo Lifestyle<\/a>\u00a0she\u2019s thrilled that families will get a chance to buy one of this year\u2019s houses, Scott Cam spoke about \u2018Mr Lambo\u2019 during an appearance on The Fox\u2019s\u00a0Fifi, Fev & Nick<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

When asked if Adrian had been \u201cbanned\u201d from making an appearance at the auctions later this month, Scott asserted this wasn\u2019t entirely true and he could turn up \u201cif he wants to\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t ban him; that\u2019s something he said. We never banned him; it\u2019s a public auction, anyone can turn up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just kindly said, \u2018What do you reckon, you had a good run on the auctions, why don\u2019t we leave it to some families to try and buy the houses?\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think Adrian has gone over to another network to do something anyway, so he wouldn\u2019t be coming to our auction if he\u2019s doing something over there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will The Block survive without Adrian Portelli?<\/p>\n

Adrian Portelli\u2019s departure from\u00a0The Block\u00a0has sparked concerns among viewers that this season\u2019s contestants may not earn as much money, or even sell their properties, without his involvement.<\/p>\n

Scott\u2019s longtime co-host, Shelley Craft, recently told\u00a0Yahoo Lifestyle<\/a>\u00a0that while she understands the concern based on the results of last year\u2019s auction, she\u2019s hopeful that his absence will allow families, local bidders, and other \u201cfresh faces\u201d to get involved this time around.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love the fact that we’re introducing the audience to Daylesford over a three-month period that they may not have thought about making the tree change,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd once they see it playing out and how much fun we all had there and how we loved it as a community – and through our challenges, we explore a lot of the local area – that maybe moving out of the city and moving to Daylesford wouldn’t be a bad idea.<\/p>\n
