Broughton will leave Red Hill for the New Zealand Warriors ahead of the 2026 season on a two-year deal, with Brisbane heavily tipped to sign rising sensation Jesse Southwell from Newcastle to replace her.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s such a talented kid, it scares me to think that she\u2019s so young, and she\u2019s doing what she\u2019s doing,\u201d Broughton said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can only see her going from strength to strength as the years go on.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Kiwi will return to her home nation with a heavy heart, having forged a palpable bond with her fellow Broncos\u2019 spine-members, but stressed it was the right choice for her and her young family.<\/p>\n
She will be joined by Broncos\u2019 premiership-winning teammate and Karyn Murphy Medallist Mele Hafagana (three-year deal).<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there\u2019s one thing I\u2019ve learnt since becoming a parent \u2026 there\u2019s always two of you. Some things are just bigger than footy, and especially when it comes to your children,\u201d Broughton said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll do anything for my son. I\u2019d move heaven and earth for him. If that means moving back home to make sure we\u2019ve got more support, then I\u2019ll jump on the first plane there.\u201d<\/p>\n
But she will return to her home nation instilled with lessons injected into by Broncos coach and former Wests Tigers premiership-winning halfback Scott Prince.<\/p>\n
Prince has orchestrated the most clinical attack in the NRLW, with the Broncos heading into Sunday\u2019s grand final averaging more than 36 points a game.<\/p>\n
That arsenal was spearheaded by Dally M Medal winner Tamika Upton \u2013 who scored the clash\u2019s first try, her 20th of the season \u2013 and player of the year runner-up Julia Robinson.<\/p>\n
Broughton said core to Brisbane\u2019s lethal offence had been the bond forged between the group \u2013 particularly the spine combination of herself, Upton, Ali Brigginshaw and Jada Ferguson.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been together for what feels like forever,\u201d Broughton said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s such a cool feeling, playing footy is an honour but getting to play some really good footy with some of your best mates is the dream. That\u2019s all you ever want to do.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe biggest reason why we\u2019re clicking is we\u2019ve got so much love for each other off the field, and we really uphold a standard.<\/p>\n
\u201cI definitely can\u2019t shy away from just how close we are off the field, but I definitely think that comes into play when we\u2019re on the field.\u201d<\/p>\n
