The Mount St. Mary’s women’s tennis team heads to the George Mason Fall Invite this weekend.<\/p>\n

MOUNT UPDATE:\u00a0 The Mount had a pair of athletes compete at the MAAC Masters on October 3-5.\u00a0 \u00a0In singles play, Venus Tang<\/a> outlasted Marist’s Yasmin Asnis in a thriller, winning 6-1, 6-7 (11-9), while Bella Pescatore rallied from a set down to defeat Niagara’s Maria Melo 1-6, 7-5 (10-6). Both fell in their second-round matches against Fairfield and Rider, respectively, to conclude a strong weekend of competition. Pescatore leads the Mount with three singles wins so far this year.<\/p>\n

FORMAT:\u00a0 The tournament will consist of hidden dual matches with the Mountaineers facing Howard, George Mason and Delaware State.\u00a0 The Mount will play Howard at 1:30 pm on Saturday while matching up with George Mason at 11:15 am and Delaware State at 2:30 pm on Sunday.<\/p>\n

UP NEXT:\u00a0 The Mountaineers close out the Fall season at the ITA Atlantic Regional hosted by Virginia Tech on October 16-21.<\/p>\n
