Jimmy Fallon\u2019s \u201cThe Tonight Show\u201d<\/a> is in its \u201cLife of a Showgirl\u201d era, with the late night program\u2019s digital views climbing 95% and engagements surging 142% since Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2018s Oct. 6 appearance to promote her new album, TheWrap has exclusively learned.<\/p>\n

When combined with the Oct. 7 sit-down interview with HUNTR\/X and their first-ever full live performance of the record-breaking hit song \u201cGolden\u201d from \u201cK-POP Demon Hunters,\u201d Fallon generated more than 298 million online views and 38 million engagements across digital and social platforms combined.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Swift bump for the Tonight Show comes as \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl\u201d broke a number of\u00a0streaming records<\/a>\u00a0across platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d (the album\u2019s lead single) became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history.<\/p>\n

Swift\u2019s theatrical listening event, \u201cRelease Party of a Showgirl<\/a>,\u201d also brought in $33 million at the box office.<\/p>\n

During her appearance on Fallon, Swift broke down the creation and meaning behind a number of songs on her new album, including \u201cOpalite,\u201d \u201cFather Figure\u201d and \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia. She also blushed when it came time to talk about \u201cWood,\u201d a funk-infused, explicit love song about her fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce.<\/p>\n

\u201cI brought this into the studio and I was like I want to do a throwback, timeless-sounding song and I have this idea about \u2018I ain\u2019t gotta knock on wood\u2019 and it would be all these superstitions,\u201d Swift said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt really started out in a very innocent place,\u201d she added before hanging her head as the audience laughed. Fallon shook his head and Questlove started riffing on his drum set to keep the moment rolling.<\/p>\n

Swift composed herself and continued, leaning into the laughter: \u201cI don\u2019t know what happened, man. I got in there, we started vibing and I don\u2019t know how we got here, but I love the song so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swifties will enjoy even more of the singer when NBC drops an extended cut of her interview<\/a> with Fallon tonight at 11:35 pm ET\/PT. Peacock subscribers can view the extended edition on the streaming service the following day.<\/p>\n
