Nick Daicos<\/a> has put speculation that he could be lured out of Collingwood<\/a> to rest.<\/p>\n

Daicos is signed on at Collingwood until 2029, where he will become a free agent, but that has not stopped rival clubs from expressing their interest in his talents.<\/p>\n

Several reports have emerged that rival clubs have gone directly to the Collingwood superstar and asked about his openness to request a trade this year.<\/p>\n

But the 22-year-old, who finished second in the Brownlow Medal this season, is confident that he will not be on the move any time soon.<\/p>\n

“I guess it’s just that time of year, isn’t it?” Daicos told reporters at Caulfield racecourse on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“I’ll leave all that business with my manager, Robbie D’Orazio; he does a great job.<\/p>\n

“He always says to me, ‘If it’s anything serious and I need to let you know, I’ll let you know.’<\/p>\n

“He hasn’t let me know as of yet. There’s always movement going on, but I just wait to hear from a call from Robbie.”<\/p>\n

Geelong great Jimmy Bartel<\/a> had previously declared that many clubs would find it difficult to find the money<\/a> to entice Daicos to switch his jersey colour.<\/p>\n

If he were to be lured out of the club, his father, Peter, also played at, he is bound to be one of the team’s highest-paid players.<\/p>\n

Three consecutive Brownlow podium finishes only add to his value as a player, but Daicos has warned that fans should not be worried by the rumours.<\/p>\n

“I can put that to bed. I don’t think so,” he added.<\/p>\n

“As I said, Robbie handles all that stuff, and I haven’t heard anything, so it’s just business as usual, and I’m contracted.<\/p>\n

“I keep putting my effort and energy into the Collingwood Football Club.”<\/p>\n

Daicos went on to express his elation to hear that Collingwood is considering a play to secure North Melbourne’s Jy Simpkin.<\/p>\n

“That would be awesome,” he said of Simpkin’s potential move.<\/p>\n

“As ‘Fly’ (coach Craig McRae) has said many times, we want to keep improving and become a better football club.<\/p>\n

“So any time that you can welcome in a star player from an opposition, you’d jump at that opportunity, and I think the club’s doing their best to try and get him across.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Nick Daicos has put speculation that he could be lured out of Collingwood to rest.
