{"id":205672,"date":"2025-10-11T15:02:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T15:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/205672\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T15:02:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T15:02:08","slug":"how-liam-lawson-is-tackling-anxious-wait-for-2026-f1-seat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/205672\/","title":{"rendered":"How Liam Lawson is tackling anxious wait for 2026 F1 seat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/?s=lawson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liam Lawson<\/a> has confirmed that he is still \u201con hold\u201d within the Red Bull stable as he waits to learn whether he will remain on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1 <\/a>grid in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The New Zealander began the current season at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen but was moved back to the sister team after two tough opening races.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a steady run of points finishes since returning to Racing Bulls, Lawson\u2019s future remains unclear as the team weighs up several options for next year.<\/p>\n<p>Isack Hadjar has impressed and is being linked with the second Red Bull seat, while highly rated junior Arvid Lindblad could be promoted to Racing Bulls.<\/p>\n<p>Asked when he expects clarity from Red Bull, Lawson admitted the wait has been frustrating. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d love to know tomorrow, honestly,\u201d he told media including Motorsport Week. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut obviously, in this camp, it\u2019s very normal to be left on hold a little bit. That\u2019s how it is at the moment. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know the only thing that has control over that is my performance in the car. So until I have that answer, that\u2019s just what I\u2019m focused on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/XPB_1376794_HiRes-1024x576.webp.webp\" alt=\"Liam Lawson is battling to retain his place at Racing Bulls\" class=\"wp-image-225591\"  \/>Liam Lawson is battling to retain his place at Racing Bulls<\/p>\n<p>Lawson aims to let results do the talking<\/p>\n<p>Lawson has vowed to let his results do the talking as he aims to secure a long-term place within the Red Bull fold. <\/p>\n<p>Having replaced Daniel Ricciardo with six races to go in 2024, the Kiwi is hoping that a return to more familiar tracks will be advantageous in the closing rounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are some very exciting, unique, cool races coming up as well,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me as well, having done a full cycle of tracks, going to tracks that I\u2019ve done before, it\u2019s exciting.
