\"Camidoh <\/a>Camidoh is a Ghanaian musician<\/p>\n

Ghanaian singer Camidoh has said that investors do not fund artistes out of goodwill but with the expectation that their money will help produce hit songs that generate sales.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a discussion on GhanaWeb\u2019s Entertainment X Space on October 10, 2025, Camidoh noted that it is unrealistic for anyone to expect financial support from investors without offering potential returns.<\/p>\n

According to him, no business-minded person would willingly invest in an artiste who cannot guarantee some level of commercial success.<\/p>\n

Camidoh explains why he gave up rap for singing<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe only reason why someone or a businessman wants to invest in your product is to make a hit, to make sales. I\u2019m not going to put money in an artiste if I know I\u2019m not going to make money back, that makes no sense,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Camidoh made the comment in response to fast-rising artiste RCee, the Agenda hitmaker, who mentioned during the discussion that he was not intentionally chasing a hit song. <\/p>\n

RCee explained that his focus was more on creating music he enjoys.<\/p>\n

However, Camidoh clarified that RCee\u2019s statement might have been miscommunicated. <\/p>\n

He explained that the young artiste was not necessarily saying he did not want to make hits, but rather emphasising his desire to create quality music. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to correct my brother because I know what he was trying to say. It\u2019s not like he doesn\u2019t want to do mainstream music; he just wants to follow his own direction. But listen, we have jazz songs that are hit songs, we have very alternative hit songs. You just need to make sure the music you make is loved. Once the music is loved and in demand, that\u2019s it. At the end of the day, that\u2019s your goal. I feel like he was trying to express that but didn\u2019t quite get to the point,\u201d Camidoh explained.<\/p>\n

The Sugarcane hitmaker further shared that when he started his career, he made a conscious decision not to rush into chasing instant hits.<\/p>\n

He explained that many artistes end up creating songs that may sound catchy for a short while but lack longevity. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I began making music, I told myself I wasn\u2019t in a rush to make a hit because sometimes, in doing that, you end up playing nonsense, you just make any type of song.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had certain songs that were like \u2018Indomie-type\u2019 hits, those bang, bang, bang kinds of sounds people just play, but those songs don\u2019t really stand the test of time,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
