Bars and restaurants can see up to three times their average foot traffic on game days, and when the Sounders and Seahawks are also playing, Pioneer Square can host over 116,000 visitors.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.king5.com\/article\/sports\/mlb\/mariners\/mariners-fans-shake-t-mobile-park\/281-102b1020-21aa-4095-819e-e1a3a07a98ba\" class=\"cms__embed-related-story__link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mariners fans&#8217; cheers cause ground to shake, reach seismic level<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m still waiting for the hangover crowd to come in from yesterday,\u201d said Amanda Funaro, who works at McCoy\u2019s Firehouse.<\/p>\n<p>Brendan Casey, owner of Parlour Pioneer Square, said that game days are a boon for local businesses, and the momentum this postseason has been especially welcome for new businesses. This year alone, more than 20 new businesses have opened in Pioneer Square, offering visitors even more to explore.<\/p>\n<p>The Mariners\u2019 playoff run isn\u2019t just benefiting businesses \u2014 it\u2019s energizing fans too.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s great to see the vibrancy in the city coming back for a visit and have the team win\u2026 couldn\u2019t be better,\u201d said Todd Fairweather, a longtime Seattle resident and Mariners supporter.<\/p>\n<p>Even newer fans like Amanda have caught the excitement. \u201cI actually became a Mariners fan a couple years ago because of the staff here and everything they told me about the team,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Seattle isn\u2019t done celebrating yet. With the Mariners advancing to the American League Championship Series, the team is guaranteed at least two more home games at T-Mobile Park, with the possibility of a third.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fans have already lined up to pick up playoff apparel at the pro shop, while local businesses prepare for another round of high-energy game days.<\/p>\n<p>Game 1 against the Toronto Blue Jays begins at 5:03 p.m. Sunday and will air on FOX.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"With the city buzzing from Friday night&#8217;s win, businesses can expect another surge this coming week.
